Surprise Honey! He Loved Them
Miss D initially did her boudoir session as a surprise for her partner’s birthday gift. She surprised him by trickling photos to him so that he received multiple surprises throughout the day. He was more than pleasantly surprised by each one as he was not expecting anything like this for his birthday!
Why did you book your boudoir session?
My initial thought was to find a gift for my partner's birthday. But it turned out to be a more important gift for myself. 2021 was a big milestone year for me and with so many changes happening I really didn't have the time or give myself the time to really care for myself both physically and mentally. This experience was a real self confidence booster and what better way to celebrate coming into my 30s by flaunting what I’ve got and being able to look back in another 30 years to really appreciate my life and achievements thus far.
How did you feel driving out to the studio?
The drive to the studio was divine - driving among the trees with the sun shining through and listening to my favourite music on the way there - a really great way to start off the morning! Already I started feeling empowered being in the driver's seat - was not nervous at all but felt excited about what was to come of the day.
How did you feel having your hair and makeup done?
Getting my hair and makeup was a whole lot of fun! These girls were super lovely and talented and made me feel very welcome, comfortable and beautiful throughout the whole process.
How did you feel during your session? (When you saw your images on the back of my camera)
Lara was amazing in all aspects - directing me on what to do, how to pose. I normally look very awkward in photos not knowing what to do when a camera is pointed at me. However, after the first few snaps and looking at them straight afterwards on the back of Lara’s camera I was blown away by how amazing these shots looked that Lara was able to capture. From there the rest of the day was a breeze! Super fun and felt super comfortable - coming up with ideas of looks and poses and driving into the woods. Although not so comfortable lying amongst sticks and stones but that did not translate through the lens which I thought was amazing!
